1. Progressive MS, diagnosed 8 years ago. Also had neck injury with spinal cord damage. Wheelchair bound, able to assist with transfers. Has significant involvement of muscles in back of throat and his voice. Difficulty swallowing, strong possibility of aspiration exists. Difficulty with breathing at times due to muscle weakness.

1. Wife notices greater strength and more ability to assist when transferring to and from bed and wheelchair.

1. Recommendation for surgery for feeding tube placement was never made. Therapist is amazed and admitted she never expected him to improve. His throat muscles are so much improved that not only is the recommendation for surgery canceled, but Donald, is able to increase the type of foods he eats to a more normal diet. Significant improvement. He is extremely pleased.

1. Voice is improving. Gradual improvements in strength, but he still requires assistance at all times.
